I feel like to sincerely thank everyone who have been supporting organization of this important event for Saint-Petersburg. Undoubtedly that the process of development of Kyudo in Saint-Petersburg demonstrate steady, gradual progress and persistence, acquiring certain maturity with each year. This year in July The Second World Kyudo Taikai is taking place in Paris where Saint-Petersburg representatives are going to participate among the Russian delegation. This World Tournament might become a milestone for Kyudo in Russian Federation.
P.S.

“We are happy, that Saint-Petersburg measurably contributes to the development of probably one of the most traditional, genuine and distinctive Japanese Martial Arts – Kyudo. Undoubtedly the archery by itself is common for every culture and each nation has its masters. But there is no equivalent to such a unique distinctiveness, subtlety and elegance which are transparent in Kyudo ceremonies done by Japanese archers. During the Year of Russian-Japanese martial arts exchanges Russian Union of Martial Arts, as a one of the top priority tasks sees an extensive support to the processes, which are not only able to affect developing of values of healthy way of living for youth (what is ultimately important), but also helps to conduct such a culture exchange acquainting us with new traditions, ideas and knowledge. And what is more important, taking in mind uneasy situation in modern world, such an exchanges allows to cultures to communicate, to set a dialogue, which is a basement for mutual understanding. In this year RPO “Saint-Petersburg Federation of Traditional Kyudo” celebrates its 5th anniversary and it is absolutely pleasant for me as a resident of Saint-Petersburg that in such a short term they, through their patient persistence and commitment, have done so much and it could be surely said that the Kyudo in Saint-Petersburg, as Japanese Traditional Martial Art is Established! We hope so much that The Cup for Kyudo tournament, provided by the Japan Consulate General in Saint-Petersburg is a proper acknowledgement which will be followed by many good things in Kyudo society in both Saint-Petersburg and Russia.”
